Ask questions about a video, or hand it to your AI

AIs don’t watch videos: they read. Give yours the video’s full text, with a ready-made prompt, in one click.

The missing link between a video and your AI assistant

Want an AI to explain a video, discuss it with you or turn it into something? Most assistants can’t watch a YouTube, Instagram or TikTok link. transcription.page fetches the video’s full, timestamped text and gives you two options.

First: ask your question directly in the Use it tab (“what arguments does he give against it?”, “what is the exact recipe?”); the answer relies only on the video and cites the passages. Second: click ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Copilot; the transcript is copied with a prompt already written, the assistant opens, and you just paste.

How to give a video to an AI

  1. Paste the video link

YouTube, Instagram or TikTok, in any language.

  2. Open the Use it tab

Type your question, or pick a tool: summary, simple explanation, outline, quotes…

  3. Or continue in your AI

One click on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Copilot copies the transcript and prompt, then opens the assistant.

Why go through the transcript

  • Sourced answers

Every answer cites the timestamps it used: check it in one click.

  • Ready-made prompt

The copied text starts with a clear instruction, so the assistant knows what you expect.

  • Any language

The video can be in Arabic, French or Darija: ask your questions in your own language.

  • Explain it to someone

Explain simply tells the video like to a friend who hasn’t seen it, ready to pass on.

Questions about using it with an AI

Why not just give ChatGPT the link?

Many assistants can’t read a video’s content from its link, or only partly. With the full transcript, the AI works on everything that is said.

Do I need a ChatGPT or Claude account?

Not to ask a question in the Use it tab: the answer is given on transcription.page. To continue in an external assistant, you need that assistant’s account.

Are my questions stored?

Your question and the transcript text are sent to our AI provider (Groq) to produce the answer, and are not stored long-term by transcription.page. Answers stay in your browser’s history.
