Understand a video in a language you don’t speak

A talk in French, a recipe in Arabic, a tutorial in Spanish: transcription.page first transcribes the video in its original language, detected automatically, then the Translate button makes it readable in English, French, Arabic, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Indonesian or Dutch.

The translation keeps every segment’s timestamps, so the exported SRT and WebVTT subtitles are translated too, ready to add to the video. Original + translation mode shows each translated line with the original right under it, ideal for learning a language or checking a passage.

How to translate a video

  1. Paste the link

The original language is detected on its own; you can also pick another caption track in the language menu.

  2. Click Translate

Choose the language: the translation arrives in seconds, with its progress shown.

  3. Read or export

Translated text, Original + translation view, translated SRT or VTT subtitles.

Translation built for video

  • Translated subtitles

Timestamps are kept: the translated SRT file lines up with the video straight away.

  • Original + translation

Each translated segment is followed by its original, to learn or to check.

  • Dialects understood

Darija and other Arabic dialects are translated for meaning, not word for word.

  • Back to the original

Switch between translation and original at any time; each translation is kept in your history.

Questions about translating videos

How good is the translation?

It is done by a language model that reads sentences in context, which gives a natural translation. For official use, have the important passages proofread.

Are translated subtitles in sync?

Yes: each translated segment keeps the start and end time of the original segment.

How many languages are available?

Fifteen translation languages. The transcription itself works in the video’s original language, whatever it is.
